Beyond the Medicine Chest of the World:
Looking Towards the Future of Health and Medicine

The future of health and medicine is moving beyond a traditional "medicine chest" of treatments to a proactive, personalized, and technology-integrated ecosystem. Driven by significant advancements in data science, AI, and cutting-edge biomedical research, New Jersey is reclaiming its mantle as the life sciences capital of the world. On March 23, 2026, at The Rutgers Club, the Builds Bio+ Inaugural NJ Symposium will convene the leaders driving this transformation.

Symposium Focus: Navigating Future Healthcare Trends

The future of healthcare will emphasize prevention and tailoring treatments to individual needs. Our inaugural symposium will dive deep into the infrastructure and innovations required to support these key trends:

  • 🧬 Precision Medicine & Advanced Therapies
Tailoring medical treatments to an individual's genetic profile and supporting the revolutionary cell, gene, and CRISPR therapies changing how diseases are cured.
  • 💻 Integration of AI and Data
Exploring how artificial intelligence and machine learning will revolutionize drug discovery, disease diagnosis, and patient care.
  • 🏥 Digital Health & Preventive Care
The shift toward continuous monitoring, early intervention through biosensors, and telehealth to enhance accessibility.

The Role of Innovation Hubs: An Interconnected Ecosystem

Regions like New Jersey are vital to this future, leveraging a concentration of scientists, top-tier universities, and specialized R&D infrastructure. To accelerate the path from idea to marketed product, we are bringing the entire ecosystem into one room.

Association Partners: BioNJ, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), Choose New Jersey, the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ), the Commission on Science, Innovation and Technology (CSIT), the New Jersey Bioscience Center, Nucleate New York, and the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development Industry Partnerships.

With strategic support from current sponsors: Rutgers University, the Health + Life Science Exchange (HELIX NJ), Ennead Architects, the Northeast Science and Technology (NEST) Center, Skanska, Swagelok, Sampled, New Jersey BioFutures, and Dynatech Sales.

Ultimately, the future involves an interconnected ecosystem where technology, data, and advanced science converge to create a more equitable, efficient, and personalized healthcare system for all.
